Google business listing calls still ring through, but Google no longer shows you a log of them. Call history ended on July 31, 2024. What remains is a Calls count of taps on your call button. To see who called, and whether anyone answered, use your own phone records.
Google listing call check
Tick what is true of your listing, then enter the Calls number from your Performance report. The tool scores the phone setup, ranks the fixes, and estimates what missed listing calls are worth on your numbers.

What missed listing calls are worth
The listing works, but some callers are likely hitting a dead end. Start with the top fix.
| Share missed | Missed calls | Value a month |
|---|---|---|
| 10% | 4.0 | $480 |
| 25% | 10.0 | $1,200 |
| 40% | 16.0 | $1,920 |
| 60% | 24.0 | $2,880 |
Google listing call check: 74 of 100 (Leaking) Fixes, biggest first: 1. After-hours callers can only leave a message. Answer the line after hours, or return every message at opening and give the time in your greeting. 2. Add them under Edit profile, Hours, Special hours. Main hours must be set to Open with main hours for them to appear. 3. Tap Call on your listing from a phone that is not on your business line. Listen to what a stranger hears, during hours and after. 4. You cannot see which listing calls were answered. Check your phone system's call log first. Add a tracking number only if you need the source of each call. Estimate on my numbers: 10.0 missed listing calls a month, 2.0 customers, about $1,200 a month.
Runs in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent, and it does not connect to your Google account. Google-based items come from Google's help pages, read November 2026. Point weights and every default number are our assumptions: replace them with your own.
Key takeaways
- Google removed call history from Business Profile on July 31, 2024. Past records could be downloaded until August 30, 2024.
- The Calls metric counts clicks on the call button. It does not say if a call connected or was answered.
- The count can miss a number dialed by hand from your listing, and it includes taps that never connected, so it is not a call count.
- At 40 button taps, 25 percent missed, 20 percent buying and a $600 customer, the example comes to $1,200 a month. Those four numbers are assumptions to replace.

How to see calls from your Google Business Profile
You can see a count, not a list. Open the Performance report on your Business Profile, pick a time period, and read Calls. Google defines it as the number of times a customer clicked your call button. There is no caller, time, duration or answered status in that report.
- 1
Go to your Business Profile while signed in
Use the Google account that manages the verified profile, then select Performance. - 2
Choose the time period
Set the period at the top of the report and select Apply. In the Google Maps app, tap Business, then See more next to Performance. - 3
Read Calls next to your other numbers
Compare it with Directions and Website clicks. A falling Calls figure with steady views is worth a look at your phone setup. - 4
Save it if you need a record
In Business Profile Manager, select the profile, then Actions, Insights, and Download Report. Keep your own monthly number, because the report is not a call log.
What happened to Google Business Profile call history
Google ended it. Its help page states that the chat and call history features stopped being available on July 31, 2024, with Takeout downloads open until August 30, 2024. If you did not save those records then, plan on them being gone.
Older guides still describe a call log and a forwarding number. Do not spend an afternoon looking for them. Google also says the call button was updated to the number you supplied, so the old forwarding number should no longer be in the path.
One setting can still confuse people. If you link Google Ads and use a location asset, Google says a Google Ads phone number can be used there, and it can differ from your profile number. An ad call and a listing call are not the same thing, so keep them separate when you count. Some accounts can also let customers reach them by text message or WhatsApp from the profile, which Google offers as a route for customers now that chat has ended.
How to track calls from your Google Business Profile
Pick the lightest method that answers your question. The Calls metric shows interest. Your phone system's log shows what happened on the line. A dedicated tracking number is the only one of the three that ties an individual call to the listing, and it brings its own risk.
| Method | What you learn | What you do not learn | Effort |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calls metric | Button clicks over time | Who called, or if anyone answered | None |
| Your phone system's call log | Every call to the line, answered or not | Which came from Google | Low |
| Tracking number on the listing | Calls to that number, from the vendor's own log | People who found you elsewhere and dialed your main line | Medium |
| Tracking number plus UTM tags on your website link | Also the people who click to your site from the listing and call from there | Anything from a hand-dialed number that never touches the tracking setup | Higher |
Call tracking numbers: what Google says, and does not
Google's representation guidelines, as read in November 2026, do not mention call tracking numbers by name. They do require a number under the direct control of the business, they prefer a local number over a central call center line, and they bar premium-rate numbers. A setup that breaks those rules is a problem whatever you call it.
Google lets you add up to two more numbers beside your primary one. Sterling Sky's guide recommends the tracking number as primary and the real number as an additional one, plus UTM tags on the website link. The risk is ownership. If the vendor account lapses, the number on your listing can stop working. Keep the account in the business's name, and test it monthly.
What happens to the listing call nobody answers
Someone with a burst pipe or a question about a unit searches at 7:40pm. They tap Call on the first listing that looks right. It rings out. The Calls metric goes up by one, and your report looks better than last month.
That is the blind spot. The metric rewards the tap, whether or not you picked up. So compare it with your phone log: if the listing got 40 taps and your log shows 30 answered calls from every source combined, you have a problem the report will not show you. The rough math is in the tool, and our inbound call guide explains why these calls tend to be worth more than an outbound dial.
Hours are the cheap fix. Google asks for your regular customer-facing hours, and special hours cover short changes. If you list 8am to 6pm, somebody has to answer from 8am to 6pm. For the rest of the day, your choices are the ones in our guide to stopping missed business calls: forwarding, an answering service, a call-back routine or an AI receptionist.
One of those options is callflo.ai. It answers calls forwarded from your existing number 24/7, handles questions from your website content, and texts callers and captures leads on Starter. That plan is 39 dollars a month on annual billing, or 49 dollars month to month, with 120 minutes and extra minutes at 0.98 dollars. On VIP it also books appointments and transfers calls live. Your listing number does not change.
It does not tell you which calls came from Google, unless you also use a tracking number. It also does not fit if you already answer nearly every call, or if your listing gets a handful of taps a month and a call-back routine keeps up. See the pricing page for the plans.
Hear what a listing caller would hear after hours
Call callflo.ai's own AI agent and ask it anything about your business. When you are ready, pick a plan: no setup fee, no contract, and you do not pay unless you are satisfied.
Starter is $39 a month on annual billing. Live on your line about 5 minutes after you sign up.
